The Story Behind Somadya

What Somadya Means - Somadya (सोमद्य) emerges from two Sanskrit roots  that together point to the deepest aspiration of  this work.  Soma — the primordial nectar of divine  consciousness. In Vedic tradition, Soma is the  bliss state, the sacred offering, the experience  of pure awareness recognizing itself. It is the  taste of what you already are beneath everything  you have accumulated.  Adya — the primordial, the first, the original.  One of the names of the Divine Mother in her  unmanifest form — the ground state of pure  consciousness that exists prior to creation,  prior to thought, prior to identity.  Together, Somadya points to the nectar of the  primordial — the original bliss state that is  not achieved but remembered. Not created but  uncovered.  This is what every ceremony, every coaching  session, and every sacred consultation at  Somadya is ultimately pointing toward. 

  The Tradition Behind the Practice  Somadya's work is rooted in the Vedic tradition —  one of the oldest continuously living spiritual  lineages in human history.  The havan ceremonies we perform draw from  Vedic ritual science that has been transmitted  without interruption for thousands of years.  The chanting practice draws from the precise  mantra science of the Vedas. The coaching  methodology integrates the non-dual philosophy  of Vedanta — the inquiry into the nature of  consciousness that produced some of the  most sophisticated philosophical teachings  ever articulated.  The Sri Vidya tradition specifically — within  which Adya Kalika Dasa has received initiation — is  considered the highest path within Shakta  Tantra, pointing directly toward the  recognition of consciousness as the ground  of all experience.  We carry this lineage with reverence. We offer  it with accessibility. We protect its integrity  by never reducing it to technique, trend,  or performance.
